How's your campaign? I'm new to the club and its boards, although I'm going to try making it down to the club at some point. My big interest is Kryomek (cf., the club's sci-fi wargames thread). I would be making it down once my evening class has finished, which would be then in two weeks; however, I am a halfing vampire hunter on occasion, and one of those occasions is the Monday following. Timf mentioned on the Kryomek thread that WHFRP is the current RPG of choice. 2nd edition, I'm guessing from this thread's title?
We've been playing our game for 2 1/2 years now (since August 2014) and it doesn't show signs of stopping. My halfing has currently two insanities, and has been lobotomised for a previous condition (twice...the first attempt one wasn't effective!). While one of our players has steamed through about 4 characters, mine is one of the originals. Halfings get tonnes of Fate Points. Jammy.

Yes it is 2nd edition. If you are familiar with 1st edition but not 2nd then broadly they moved entirely to a D% and D10/D5 system. Advancements moved to 5% per advance from 10%, the skill system was actually made to work much more efficiently and they fell into a Full action/2 half actions/Free action model for the round by round games. oh and Fate points run as two track - the get out jail free card which permanently burns it but also the 'minor use per session' which is rerolls, insta heals/damage reduction, minor plot hooks etc. I don't know enough about the 3rd edition to line thim up but they were very different from what I saw.
Its been going 16months now - we did a few intro adventures to set things up and the core of it is a published campaign book set - with side adventures thrown in. We have just finished the first major module in out session last Monday. Characters are just about completing their first career and about to have to do a much more character interactive module. One player has just changed character due having burnt his Halfling out of fate and now being left with only bear necessities. Everyone else is on their first to varying degrees of Fateyness - so one elf hunter/noble (the Scarecrow), one Dwarf Runesmith (the Munchkin), one Kislevite (Cowardly Lion), a Bretonnian Knight Errant (the Tin Man) leaving the one elf mage apprentice to fall into either the Dorothy, the Wicked Witch of the West or the Wizard of Oz role - they aren't quite sure yet.
I try to focus on player fun over the acting side of roleplaying, which means some may not like it but I'd LARP for full immersion so this suits me. That said when there are talky sessions we do have 'everything you say is what your character says' moments to stress people out and get them to drop themselves in it (themselves, if I wanted them to drop others in it I'd run Paranoia).

RRight - back to our shared alternate reality. The May session of the WFRP campaign is going to be restricted by the Scouts using their hall in mid May. So the 22nd May is out and that would have been ideal. Might I suggest people pencil in the 29th of May for the May RPG session....and Dave can see if he can get it off. Or is the fact that it is the Bank Holiday a problem? I am not around this coming week so could someone ask Hat Chris if he can make it and if not we can work from there - maybe look at the 15th
