We rescued the woman, killed the demon that erupted from the woman and generally got lots of gold so is there a suggested date for the next session? Also the Brettonian has a swishy sword, is it possible to put a permanent rune of striking on it (I’m refusing to help the harfling as his knuckle dusters are an embarrassment that I regret putting my mark on…feel free to donate them to me so I can render them into something more useful). Not my fault that you failed to achieve the order given by your customer... I asked for the Rune of "fiery obliterating explosive death", not the rune of "Mincing slap". Never fear, plans are afoot to prove that the Halfling race is indeed superior, and can turn even the worst produced kit into something useful.

And now a game mechanics question.
How much experience does it take for me to leave a career to a Career exit before completing the Career? Is it the normal 200?

Via a career exit before completing the career. You cannot - to use a career exit you must complete the career.
The 'usual 200xp' is the cost to transfer to a new Basic Career of choice - which may in this instance be the same effect, but if the route you were planning to go to is an Advanced career, it won't work

The order was for me to improve the knuckle dusters and this I did. Please don't besmirch my work as I have a book of grudges and will use it

Is there anyway to get a talent or skill outside of the career?

Yes, the Elite Talent method (easily found in the 40k RPGs on the system but a bit more buried). Its quite a bit more expensive XPwise as it allows you to breach elements of game balance so need to be reeled in somehow. It must have an in game justification of how and why and often needs a teaching option - usually takes a lot of time to be relatively cheap or a lot of XP to be functionally viable for pickup. Sometimes these can crop up as adventure awards and similarly if you can string together a reason.
Depends what you are after basically....

Well first off I'd need the specialisation for the gunpowder weapons, as I do have a pistol. There is a~ career exit I can get it from, but going for that just for one talent is suspect. Of course I could argue I've been fiddling with the pistol in my evenings off, to work out how to use it and the ins and outs. Then pay some of the powder and shot (as well as the EXP) for it as part payment for practice with it. The other is Strike to stun. Annoyingly it was an "or" skill option on my starting career, and I took the other option, as whose expecting a Halfling to start punching things? There's at least two other careers that are exits that I can get it from. However taking those careers just to break immediately and get back onto my path, which I suppose I could do by reverting back to my current career. but that seems really gamy to go: Honest haulier career exit > Fence > 200exp> honest haulier then immediately exit career as its complete. Its also a long distance away.

You can buy any 'or' options from current or previous careers freely - no need for specials.
A weapon skill talent as a special is relatively normal, so I am sure we can work something out on that as you have a gun. bear in mind that not having the talen simply puts penalties in rather than preventing you using the item at all...with a high enough BS you should be moderately capable while learning it up andjustifying the talent purchase

Any more yes/No comments for the 25th as the next WFRP session please? Well as usual I'll try to make it, but work can spring some horrors on me in as little as 1 hours notice, if not less.

The Knight of Bretonnia will be there, but maybe a bit late as on a course at work.

Right - sorry guys but despite telling me that it would not be on this particular date, the secretary and president of my rugby club have called the end of year Committee meeting for the 25th. It is not a meeting I can miss, so I am going to have to cancel the WFRP session for that night. We can run it either on the Bank Holiday 2nd of May if enough can make it, and if not we'll set for the 9th. Comments please asap!
