I think the larger galaxy works well.
I'm less sure about the turn ordering -- it seems to add complexity without really gaining very much.
I'm wondering what we can do to get through more turns. There's a turn ordering variant which uses two players moving at the same time (that's what the pink player marker is for).
Is it worth trying that?

Yes it does also yes the turn ordering is probably not worth the extra faffing.
Hmmm that kinda sounds like it would add complexity too.
Sadly probably less players would speed it up but I think a fun idea would be to have a timer for each players go like in Robo rally to force us all to speed through each turn.

Also if we can all make the next all day weekend session (which hasn't been scheduled but I'm sure it'll happen) that would definitely give us time to play a game to its conclusion.

I'm in for a weekend with either large Eclipse game, or 4-player Forbidden Stars.

Interesting but it looks like there are too many exceptions there for it to make a huge difference. Though without trying it out who knows?
