While waiting for a bus on a cold dark Cambridge night, I happened to have a pen, a pad of paper and some inspiration to create a Kryomek scenario. I've roughly typed up the 2 A4 of notes into a PDF: rjaduthie.co.uk/Files/Games/Kryomek/RichterRescue_Simple.pdfThe human forces are based on the figures I picked up on eBay. I think I have one battlefield module somewhere (or I used to...). The kryomek forces are not defined, but I've estimated that up to 1000 pts with a regeneration rule might be fun. It depends on the amount and nature of terrain placed. This scenario could have some variations: - an active gun turret on the battlefield module - spawn points in the battlefield for regenerated kryomek - better names for the humans... :¬P Although I don't have the kryomek forces ready, if Katie's up for it, we can have a go at this on 11th December, when meine Deutschklasse is over. Hopefully, I will have some kryomek ready sometime in the near future, however!

Update: added weapons and armour class to the humans' list. And added an extra sentence on the intended deployment of the dropped SWATs.
Also, in the same web folder as the PDF is an ODT, with the same filename stem. Feel free to dowload and edit.

I am running Uncharted Seas, yes, but I have enough to play if you want to defect the cold cold metallic Kryomek world.....

Actually, I can't do the 18th either. My other half has book club and I'm on baby sitting duty. More Kryomek in the new year!
In the meantime, I'll create better names for the characters in the scenario. I might even be able to have a game outside the club to test it out. The reason I can't make Monday is because of my long-standing WHFRP group have called a snap session; we haven't played for ages, because of folks' family commitments, etc. However, some of them have expressed interest in having a go at Kryomek...

Now I've finished painting my Frostgrave warband (more or less) or, at least, they've played their big game (campaign finale of Thaw of the Loch Lord), I can get to finishing off the nexus troops I have already. Hopefully, the bases for the Kryomek will arrive this week, too. It would be good to have these done then have a go at my scenario.
I'm also working on a name generator, to help replace the names in the current scenario draft.

By the way, I've moved the scenario, so the link above is broken. I'm probably going to move my webspace to a different host. It's also the reason my avatar has disappeared. These things will be back soon.
I'm going to try to find time to update the scenario with better character names this week. This is so I can upload it to the Facebook group, too. Maybe by Easter Monday, I'll have the models painted for the scenario; I am missing the building, which I can't find in my hobby boxes. Perhaps Katie can lend one of hers, or I'll prepare a yoghurt pot alternative.

Did anyone happen to download the PDF from the link? The file has now been moved, so the link doesn't work, but I think I've lost the backup I took (HD failure).

Hello Sci-Fi Fans,
Anyone want to have a go at my scenario on the 16th? I've got most of my Kryomek assembled and based (I think I need one more warmaster to make it work...) and the humans are mostly done; I have few buildings from the Kryomek range, too (seconds that were going cheap on eBay).
The idea will be to have the humans as described in the scenario already (347.5pts, if one group are regulars and the other are vets), then two warmasters and 3 groups of helions for the kryomek side (767.5pts). The ratio of point is about 2.2, which is not bad for a table with a fair amount of cover. However, a helion group will have a 50% to respawn when defeated; this will boost the points value of the kryomek forces to a decent ratio (kryomek need a high multiplier of points, depending on the amount of scenery). It might make the kryomek a little unstoppable, but that might be fun.
Any takers?

No takers here, although I've had parallel chats with folk on other channels.
However, I think I'll have to postpone as I don't think I'll have the painting done. I didn't factor in my in-laws visiting this week, which ties up the spare room where I do painting.
I'll come down on the 23rd with the Kryomek bits. Perhaps other will be having a game of Rogue Trader 40k, which will be good to see.

That was fun! The human got their arses melted off, and we discovered how brick$%1thouse warmasters are. The scenario as it stands should be retitled "Rykta's Folly": the unit of SWATs dropped straight into charging range of some helions and their main man, Rykta himself, didn't last long.
The small playing area had a positive impact on the kryomek's efficacy as flesh rending bio-machines, I think. We had a 900x900mm (i.e. 3x3') mat and the kryomek were very quickly in range to blast all sorts of corrosive substances over the puny humans.
Anyway, lots of fun and a conclusion was reached within the playing time. Thanks to James for being available to play, the extra scenery was very welcome, too.
I'll put pictures up somewhere at some point and link to them from here.
