As someone that is in a high (but not the highest) risk group (due to the meds I take for my Crohn’s), and who has spent the best part of the last 18 months either shielded or self-shielding, I am keen to get back to in-person gaming first and foremost *safely* no matter how many “hoops” I have to “jump through”.
Ideally I would like those hoops to be:
- A well ventilated gaming area (doors and windows open). - Masks (with exemptions) worn at all times (whist moving around, at a minimum). - Double vaccinated members only. - Use of hand sanitiser before starting and when returning to a game. - No eating or drinking at the table.
And, frankly, members showing each other the respect of doing *everything they can* to protect each other whilst gaming.

The proposed rules are approximately 90% of what I would ideally like to see. But also include some rules that I feel are unnecessary.
However, if the club reopens this coming Monday, I would not feel comfortable attending.

I would need to see the rules and guidelines in full before I commit to coming.
But I am keen to resume in-person gaming.

You covered the main things - limiting numbers, spacing between tables, face coverings, doors and windows, hand sanitiser (which I would bring for myself anyway) - but the one thing you didn’t mention that I have become much less comfortable about is people eating stuff like sweets and snacks that mean putting hand and fingers to mouth without then cleaning them before handling components.

Sweet.
I was going to ask whether there will be any sensible restrictions in place.
I’m doubled-vaxxed, however am also in a higher risk category. So I very much want to get back to in-person gaming, but want to be comfortable doing so.

Hey all.
Has there been any discussion or thought anywhere about the possibility of the club reopening any time soon?

Hey Becki!
(It is Becki, right?)
Will you be along this coming Monday? If so I’ll make sure I make it, so you’ll at least sort of, vaguely, know one of us!
I won’t decide which games I’m bringing till the day of, but it will probably be a selection of mid to lower end of heavy weight board and/or card games.
Most likely will have Marvel Champions with me, because that’s my newest acquisition. And I’m liking it a lot.

You did fine, Dan.
All of the factions have a primary way to score, and some have a secondary way, but few, if any, can rely on that alone.
The rest of the VPs you need to win have to come from the scoring methods that are available to (almost) everyone - removing enemy tokens and crafting items.
And then you have to juggle scoring with preventing others from scoring, and not waste actions attacking the wrong people.

(Repost because I apparently somehow posted in the wrong sub-forum previously) Can I interest people in playing Pipeline (the game I thought was 5-player but isn’t)? boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/256730/pipelineIt’s a heavy-end-of-medium weight economic game about refining oil and has a nice spatial pipework puzzle mechanic. How to play, for those interested: youtu.be/huh97bZQ6Tk

We generally try to decide what to play, and start setting up, around 19:30.

Walking home I remembered I forgot a rule regarding the scoring of the final Dominance Check - the points awarded are doubled (before being split due to influence/cylinders).
So, Katie, we actually scored 13 points, not 9.
Sorry Bennet. You lost by a larger margin than you thought.
