Looks like Michael will be along next week for the grand battle.
Any indication of sides?

I don't think it's next week is it? I thought Hat Chris was talking about wanting to play his own new copy of Castle's of mad king something or other next week?

Just to confirm it looks like I should have everything ready for waterloo. (just a couple of brigades left to paint)
I must appologise in advance that there will be a few inaccuracies due to limitations in my available figure (for some reason the Prussians have turned up in Austrian uniforms) but it should be pretty impressive.

Doing my research tonight: watching Sharpe's Waterloo. A most fascinating and illuminating documentary

I'd just as soon go for Waterloo (1970 film). Bravura portrayal of Napoleon.
Also Blucher:
"I am seventy-two years old and a proud soldier. My word is like my sword: I am too old to break it!"

Bean is doing a two parter on Discovery where they're letting him loose with the real weapons. Apparently the repro weapons used in Sharpe are rather lighter than the real muskets...
Yes, I'm going to try and bimble in this week.

Just to say a quick thanks to Chris for organising last night's game, I had great fun and I think everyone else did too!
Although not played to completion, I'm sure Katie's Prussians would have cleaned up the Frenchies - at least those Frenchies remaining following their battering meted out to the Anglo-Dutch. At least Hougemont and La Haye Saint were still in British hands!
PS - those bleedin' space goats didn't turn up....again!

Many thanks Chris!
Aye, the Austrian Prussian army would have made short work of us if we'd played to a finish. It's tough to see how L'Empreur's forces could have pulled it back at the end... although I suspect we'd have finished off Wellington with one more turn or so.
C'est la vie.

Agree fully. Great game and a knife-edge ending.
Thanks for all the work you put in.
