We are going to run another Formula D season
Formula D is Formula De reprinted by Asmodee and so is an F1 type racing game (there are street racing variants but we will go for the F1 version. .
We have three people interested in permanent seats already and one for a temporary. Is anyone else interested in playing regularly or even on occasion (effectively those players forming a collective minor team that sometimes doesn't get a car to the grid).
If we get current numbers committing to the season we will go for 2 drivers per player for a permanent team - or if we get lots, then we may have 5 teams and temporary drivers get the second car for a players team in a rolling sequence - so if we have 5 teams and three temporary drivers show they will join team 1, 2 and 3 - for the next race if there is only one temporary driver they will drive for Team 4, then in the next race if 2 drivers show they will join team 5 and back round to 1 again. We need to see numbers.
Shout if interested below and to what level (permanent or temporary)
Current rules:
The circuits will be placed in an order before start of the season
First game will be 'Testing' on a random track with stock cars and no advanced rules (i.e. no weather, no slipstreams and no tyre selection)
Second game will be the first race of the season proper and will introduce advanced rules of weather, slipstreams and tyres.
We will aim to run every other week, with maybe some hopping to the third week to accommodate other games for the players.
Points:
1st Place - 8
2nd Place - 6
3rd Place - 5
4th Place - 4
5th Place - 3
6th Place - 2
7th Place - 1
8th Place and beyond - 0 points
Cars that do not complete a lap are Unclassified (UNC)
Cars that complete one lap but not the second are rated DNF and score positional points based on relative distance completed. Distance is determined by standard rules for who is 'ahead' and ties (if they ever happen) are split in order of who went out first.
Both cars complete full race distance: +1point to the team
Constructors championship bonus - Most Pole Positions for a team at end of season: +2 points
Drivers championship bonus - Most Pole Positions for a driver at end of season: +2 points
Ties here mean both get the points.
TWO GAME RULES TO REMEMBER:
1) When overshooting out of a corner, you cannot make lane changes. You must break or bump. Despite everything in the Baltimore race we didn't get into that situation, but its one to remember on less forgiving tracks like the upcoming Monaco
2) Must drive shortest route between start and finish of a turn on the straight. This effectively enforces the no zig-zag rule. Again it came into play invisibly once in the game, and why Dan took a place, but that occasion Dan wanted the shortest route so there was no query about it.
Season circuit order will be:
Testing: AUSTIN
Race Days:
Baltimore
Monaco
Valencia
Hockenheim
Austin
Sebring
Singapore
Buddh
Sotchi
New Jersey
