Ok so this is where to talk about ongoing actual in game stuff. Character conversations over beer in taverns, working out what on earth to do next session etc type things that might bog down in session but can flow here. Some DM/player interaction and character actions that would divert otherwise can be run here (apart from the super secret stuff we do over PM of course)
I will summarise the current situation and primary data that prompted this thread and it can get reused for other similar events etc. Please keep purely OOC stuff out if possible. Add extra data points that you picked up on as this is based on my memory of events and I was busy characterising villagers.
So glowing/flaming skulls haunting a village and attacked the group once.
Arrived
Hired by Mayor - 750gc to solve, less 100gc per day of harvest lost. Party agreed immediately. To be put up in the fermentation shed.
4 Sightings - 1st one month ago by kid, second 1.5weeks ago by Isolde, one 3 days ago by Sigismund and Knud, one this am by Errietta which caused serious injury
Party met with local shopkeepers who rent a room to Sigismund who is missing, and received much local gossip including 'Elisabet puts it about', 'Isolde gets gold jewellery but being nice', 'Sigismund is lazy, and an army deserter', 'Henri-Phillippe has mistresses in Altdorf, Middenheim and Nuln' and 'Parzival has been disowned by his parents for indiscretions'. The shop is mostly standard farmer fare but clearly has a line in fancy goods so the village is prosperous - folding card tables, toast racks, garden gnomes etc.
Sigismund has vanished, all belongings missing and bed made.
Parzival has put the militia at the groups as per instructions. He is vain, arrogant, rich, chauvinistic and insufferably noble. He toured the sightings with the group and added his personal spin to the details.
Knud is dumb as rocks, but battered a skull with his shovel (Clod) and kept a bit of it.
Isolde is young, stunning and dating Parzival but does chat up other prospects. Does have jewellery and described her skull encounter. Parents own the tavern. Dad is chatty. Local wine is good.
Elisabet is the wife of Henri-Phillippe - the mayor - and was looking after the still unconscious Errietta. While allowing the elf to tend to the girl the Knight and Dwarf snooped in the cellar and pantry. Unusual Mead was found 'Karak Unzak' by name. Toast was made. With butter. The wizard cauterised the still badly bleeding wounds of the unconscious girl - probably helping. No magical manifestation occurred. The girl woke up and described her encounter. Didn't remember much but her friends remembered more.
Still haven't talked to Sigismund (AWOL) or bratty kid (first hand anyway) about details.
All skulls are different description. Most move away if challenged. One has attacked physically and caused injury, rest are scares. Skulls fly.
One other inhabitant of note so far. Wudar, the village lunatic - a 30year old man with no teeth who dents coins her gums and continuously chews away on something. With a tendency tospend money immediately on strongish drink and an incoherent ramble made up of words from a number of unidentified languages as well as a few identified (Reikspiel, Breton, Queekish and Khazhilid). Would fit into the normal village idiot bracket apart from the fact that the mage has identified wisps of dark magic spilling from his mouth when he dribbles, coughs, expectorates and talks.
