Kill Zone is a set of rules from 1990. No, seriously. Actually 1990. It's a post-apocalyptic/cyberpunky system which is pretty simple. The brilliant news is that Kill Zone is free!! Freshly uploaded at www.fysh.org/~katie/wargames/downloads/killzone/ are all the necessary bits. It has not one but two series of miniatures designed to work with it -- Grenadier's Future Wars, now at Moonraker Miniatures and Copplestone's range named.. erm.. Future Wars.. It's got savage, post-apoc warriors, soldiers, cops, cyborgs, power armour... and D6s. Lots of D6s. Other suitable figures are: GW's gangs, WestWind's "Road Kill", Pig Iron's "System Troopers"/"Rebels" & "Tomorrow's War". I'm painting up a bunch of Foundry "Street Violence" to give it a go with. Entry is low: 5 figures is a 200-250 starter force, 10 to 12 figures makes a big force, multi-player apparently works well. Lets play Cyberpunk!!!!

Just finished reading these rules, they are rather slick! Let's give them a go! A fair few of my Mass Effect troops will serve for a post-apoc setting and I also have a horde of zombies, if required. Thoughts?

Zombies I'm not sure about yet -- there's a couple of implementations. I've got 400points a side for SWAT vs Cyberpunks painted. I think I might more terrain though -- I've got a Scavenger village which would work but not really enough high-tech scatter. Spectre miniatures has a nice looking generic car that would work for cover but they're out of stock at the moment. I've had a look for diecast cars but I can't find anything suitable that's not 15 quid each. I'm thinking of a getting a pack of the Neo Sentry stuff for city buildings -- they do extra floors and things; shinygames.uk/product/easy-district-buildings-bundle/

I was planning on building some more Mass-Effect style habitation blocks, they will work for 28mm. You're right that this game will need a crowded table.

"Mass-Effect style habitation blocks"
Image search has failed me.... what do they look like?

I've got a load of Mantic battlezone terrain that I need to assemble. It was intended for a SLA Industries board (à la the image below). I've got a tonne of kitty litter for the same purpose. If I get it done, I can bring it to a game.

Those blocks are rather tasty. I'm not 100% if the scale will work for me (my current draft rules use a square grid) but I'm very tempted. If you're thinking of placing an order, let me know.
I know you've ordered stuff from Warbases in the past - how are they on custom jobs?

Pretty good for smaller things, I've got a larger custom order to collect next Sunday so I'll find out then....
If we can work out roughly what's needed I can chat while I'm there.

I got bases, they look spiffing.
I also bought a tonne more terrain suitable for KZ/other-sci-fi-skirmish including some neat stuff from Mantic.
