OK, we posited the idea of a Formula D Series.
Formula D is Formula De reprinted by Asmodee and so is a racing game. I have several circuits for the game.
We have three interested players/team owners in myself, Dan and Michael already.
Is anyone interested in becoming a permanent fixture of the competition. Is anyone else interested in playing on occasion (effectively those players forming a collective minor team that sometimes doesn't get a car to the grid).
Circuits include
Monaco, Sebring, Hockenheim, Valencia, Singapore, Baltimore, Buddh, New Jersey and Sotchi.
Current rules plan (this may change and keep viewing this message for updates)
The circuits will be placed in an order before start of the season
First game will be with stock cars and no advanced rules (i.e. no weather, no slipstreams and no tyre selection)
Second race will introduce weather, slipstreams and tyres
Third Race may introduce car modifications (variable wear points)
Points:
Currently going to assume 8 cars in average game, 2 cars per player/team boss
1st Place - 8
2nd Place - 6
3rd Place - 5
4th Place - 4
5th Place - 3
6th Place - 2
7th Place - 1
8th Place and beyond - 0 points
Cars that do not complete a lap are Unclassified (UNC)
Cars that complete one lap but not the second are rated DNF and score points based on relative distance completed
Both cars complete full race distance: +1point
Constructors championship bonus - Most Pole Positions for a team at end of season: +2 points
Drivers championship bonus - Most Pole Positions for a driver at end of season: +2 points
Ties here mean both get the points.
TWO RULES TO REMEMBER:
1) When overshooting out of a corner, you cannot make lane changes. You must break or bump. Despite everything in the Baltimore race we didn't get into that situation, but its one to remember on less forgiving tracks like the upcoming Monaco
2) Must drive shortest route between start and finish of a turn on the straight. This effectively enforces the no zig-zag rule. Again it came into play invisibly once in the game, and why Dan took a place, but that occasion Dan wanted the shortest route so there was no query about it.
Season sorted and ready to go....
Order:
Baltimore
Monaco
Valencia
Hockenheim
Sebring
Singapore
Buddh
Sotchi
New Jersey
