That was a good start. Works well, looks good, and easy to pick up. Definitely up to give that an other go.

I did find out we were doing Explore slightly wrong; you're supposed to put a disk on the activity tracker and then, if you take the hex, put another disk on the hex. So Explore looks MASSIVELY expensive.
I also went and re-read the expansion rules, now understanding how the base game works and it looks entirely useable. Although the sectors which spawn ancients invasions look hairy to have around.

Definitely worth another go and soon before forget the bits we learnt in the 1st game.
And yes with your new info about costs it sounds even more like it's best to start off very slowly.

Explore takes out two slots on the cash track in the app version if you actually take the hex over that turn - effectively costing two actions worth of resource. Yes, its expensive.
