And the answer is that the fields with the symbol in are part of an expansion you can only get by buying six other expansions. And then downloading the rules and learning German to read them.
They're a complicated way of teleporting Meeples about that sounds horrible. I also don't have enough of the tiles to be useful.

Well that good to know :-). I think its a case of less is more. Castles didn't really add anything , but bridges were nice. Good game though, thanks. The farmer outcome changed everything though.
See you next week.

I think castles might be more interesting in a game with more players (when it's worth ripping off a bunch of points from someone else). In a 2 player game all they really do is nullify the points for a feature.

Oh yeah, and barns might make fields more playable -- need to try them out. Basically you put a barn in a field and it scores immediately and then can't be farmed again.

I've just ordered a stack of additions; a bunch of "50" tokens for the scoring tracks and some knight meeples. The plan here is that instead of having two big meeples, you just regard all the coloured meeples as the same and everyone gets two knights as well. If you place a meeple, you can add a knight (to get the +1 resolution bonus). But because he's a knight and visibly different, you can now tell where the bonuses are. And you know which ones are yours because they're only ever on a tile with one of your meeples on it!
