I went with stat advances, as that's all I've got left on this career. +1 advance on WP, Ag, Wound, Tough.
Priest takes a hell of a long time to get through!

Well we've already had one day to use them. Even if we didn't the land of the dead is big, and the thing is, skeleton's aren't well known for their gourmet scoff. So unless we're going to jack a flying carpet, reaching a place with nosh in is going to be interesting. Wait... its not cannibalism to eat an Elf is it?

Not entirely sure how we're getting out of this one, as we're in the middle of the Land of the Dead, with no supplies, water or transport. That does of course rest on us successfully navigating the maze of traps.

OK we wil try and organise something in August (not the 24th).... PS Dave what are your tank book/books titled...I tried to find them on Amazon and thought that I had, but the author picture doesnt match you.... This is my publishers page to my profile: www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/David-Lister/a/3367There is a bit of confusion as there are a number of other authors Going by David Lister, at least two of them are separate individuals using the same publisher! If I had have known that, I'd have stuck my initial in to differentiate. Book 1: www.amazon.co.uk/Forgotten-Tanks-1920s-1930s-1940s/dp/1526714531Book 2: www.amazon.co.uk/Dark-Age-Tanks-Britains-1945-1970/dp/1526755149Book 3: Is due out May next year, Title: Defeating the Panzer-Stuka Menace. ISBN: 9781526787156. It's everything you wanted to know about Spigot Weapons (Bombard, PIAT, Hedgehog, that sort of thing). It's only something that I've been working towards since 2013.* Be Warned, Book one is a bit shit (in my opinion), as it was a baby's first book. I learnt a fair bit from publishing it so was able to do a much better job the second time around. Plus book two was a much more cohesive subject. Bit like how Pratchett's first two books are not great works, as he was finding his style and legs. Both hit Best seller status in Military Vehicles on Amazon earlier this year, with Forgotten getting the #1 slot, and Dark Age the #3 slot, due to some clever advertising. the name of the editor on Forgotten is a famous Youtuber, so he sticks up a mention and BOOM. *If you want to cause a fight on a military history forum wait until a Wehraboo starts mocking the PIAT, as crap compared to the mighty Panzerfaust (also works with Americans and the Bazooka) and post this:

Thanks Tim, I was more concerned with the rifles than the support weapons, as I'd sen the Warlords weapons. After discussing matters with a uniform expert I know we came up with a two solutions. 1: Use WWII Indian models as they were armed with P.17's. They'd need head-swaps most likely, but little other work. And galloping over the hill is the same problems that afflicted the Home Guard choice. The models don't exist (Most 28mm is Chindit's), and the few Indian models that are kicking about are 8th Army with shorts on, and armed with SMLE's. 2: First world War US models. Right rifles, Right HMG's, if you're really lucky there's BAR's and Lewis guns. The only modifications needed are lengthening the trousers, and making them more baggy, shortening the tunics and a bit of re-work on the webbing. The obvious answer to this is to cut the WWI US models in half at the waist and replace with WWII British legs. Now for such major work I'd prefer plastics, but alas these don't seem available, but there are a few metal options. www.northstarfigures.com/list.php?man=20&cat=153&sub=228&page=1Warlord do a plastic British infantry pack with webbing pouches separate as well. store.warlordgames.com/products/bolt-action-british-infantry-plastic-boxed-set?_pos=3&_sid=54e2c5ffa&_ss=rI can get Lewis guns to replace the Chauchats from here: shop.colonelbills-store.co.uk/epages/4f27da57-42ee-48c0-9cb8-22c9dd921a68.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/4f27da57-42ee-48c0-9cb8-22c9dd921a68/Products/DBW001So unless I can find a better match or options I fear this is the way I'm going. I am in the process of pointing out the gap to a miniture company (I dropped them a message on Facebook, they asked to send in an email). Which is hopeful.

I'm looking for some models for a new army, and I'm not having much luck. Mostly because I'm so out of date with mini companies, and have lost my collection of companies I used to use.
As the title would suggest what I am after is Home Guard models, in 28mm (1/56) and I'm seriously struggling to find any that fit my needs. It seems to be in part me being a picky git, but there are a few main issues.
1: Home Guard models seem to fall into one of two groups. The first is best described by the phrase "LOL Dads Army!" and is either entirely based around that show, or at least the concepts suggested by it. These immediately get binned as I want a proper historical Home Guard, which leads us nicely onto:
2: Rifles. I'll accept I may being picky sod here, but nearly all the models seem to be armed with SMLE's, not P.14's. If I wanted them with SMLE's I'd just buy the relevant mid war infantry models (although those seem to be just as rare)! From looking at sources I need the following weapons in the range: P.14's, Lewis Guns, Sten guns, Blacker Bombards and Northover's. I'm yet to find a decent helmeted Lewis gun team. I suspect this is an impossible order, although the two entries in Sub artillery can be obtained from warlord. In this category it seems the best options are 1st Corps and or Foundry. Although I have reservations about the sculpt quality of faces for 1stcorps.
The easiest way at current is to get Warlords games plastics, some P.14's from god knows where, and switch out the heads (again I don't know where from). But it seems like its going to be impossible to do that. I wonder if I should be looking at WWI models instead?
So if anyone knows of any 28mm Home Guard, with P.14's (and in this non-existent range there's a Z-projector as well...) can you please point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Right - much scanning sorted out and conducted. Series of character sheets by character name and loot/notes sheets done by batch. Now - how to get them to people as that are 3-10Meg in size so wont fit here. I can drop them to dropbox and share to people, or email direct if possible. Or any suggestion people come up with If people can prod BoatChris and Rory we can see what can be done to get them out Either or for me. I assume you have my Email?

One would be enough for me as thats a four player party and functional. Lies. Our party rarely functions, more sort "Blunders".
