Comrades of the outer realms!
Please see below the draft map for the Fantasy Warriors campaign which Katie, Chris and I threw together a couple of weeks back using the old Mighty Empires tiles. Having become interested in the actual geographical location of the Green River, the verminous Parliament (surely Rat?) and of course the beleaguered Fortress of Onyx, I am keen to work out some sort of common geography where we can pick our defensive positions and frustrate our opponents with the lie of the land.
First up is a plain map with all the tiles mocked up as closely as possible to their Mighty Empires paper forms.
Secondly, here is the map annotated with some of the meteorological, climatological and hydrographic thoughts we had on the night:
Finally, here is a third map with some of the geographical questions raised by the quirks of map creation:
I am not quite clear where our respective capitals will be. My armies consist of the following:
•The High Elves of the Topaz Throne, with their capital at the Fortress of Onyx and possibly some attendant towers named after other minerals,
•The Lords Allegiant, an agrarian race of men with a feudal social structure and notional fealty to the Topaz Throne.
These groups may be geographically contiguous or not but I suspect the elves live in the mountains somewhere where they can extract jewels, and the men live on flatter ground where they can breed horses. What say you on where your capitals might be located? And have you any additional thoughts on the terrain indicated above?
