OK, I've painted the basic set of figures (French Lights/Elves and Orc Rifles). And I'm working on more French/Elves and Scots/Rats. (These are 200pt units to match the basic ones)
I've also got a copy of the free rules 3rd Ed. Which won't quite attach here but I could make gettable if people want a pre-read...
Are there any 28mm C19th European buildings in the club collection?

Hmm, there's a few but not that many plus they are solids. We use them for FoW and similar for Normandy/France battles amongst other things. They should be viable for fantasy Napoleonic.
I may have some cardstocks that could be assembled.

I think solids are OK for the first couple of scenarios; it was more than I can bring the figures/rules on an "it might happen" basis, but crates of buildings is starting to get a lot of carrying without anything organised.

OK, so I've uploaded the free version of the rules so people can get at it if they want a look; www.fysh.org/~katie/wargames/downloads/flintloqueSo far I've got; 200pts of orc rifles, 200pts of elf voltiguer I've got 200pts of elf line centre company nearly done[1][2] and then next up is 200pts of highland rat centre. [1] Only the French would think that pink pom-poms would make a good company distinction :-) [2] We're down to things like "highlight the water bottles" and "do the metal bits of the muskets".

I've finished painting the Elf Line -- I can probably get them based and varnished over the weekend.
The Rats I'm going to try and get done but there's a lot of fiddly bits on them.

Must there be puns in public?
OK. Current status; Rats -- painted. They're flipping hard work TBH.
Elf Line -- varnish drying.

I believe better out than in....
On that note - the Elf line varnished? Was it artillery or are they a skirmish unit gone to ground?

Right. Rats and Elves painted, varnished and currently sat with the bases drying. Rah for there being a grand prix and me having finished two sets of project work earlier than expected.
I've got most of the stuff we need for the intro scenario -- just need a green base cloth out of the cupboard, if we get onto the second scenario we might need some trees.

What other races does flintloque includes other than Elves, Orcs and Rats - I assume Human and Dwarf, but what else is there? Anything interesting?

There are rules for humans but none in the official background.
Italians = toads British = orcs Scots = rats French = elves Prussians = dwarves Russians = undead/werewolves
Also Rabbits (Bavaria?), Dogmen (Turks?) There's all sorts of others, but not all of them are full armies (with all the various troop types) including the Dragonmen survivors from Age of Magic.
(Magic isn't commonplace in the Europe of the world; but Russia's undead empire still has it)
I quite like the undead figures (and I've got the Deadloque expansion) but I don't quite know how to use all their special rules. Thought it safer to stick with the Peninsular for now :-)

So, conclusions from last night's game; It's an interesting game. The black-powder weapons have fairly realistic characteristics and I think we both started shooting engagements WAY too far out and then had unloaded weapons when we need to be shooting. Compared to LotOW, for instance, there's a big falloff in accuracy as distance grows. The aim/fire/load timing compared to the move distances really lend themselves to the napoleonic tactics of "charging in, shoot at long range and then fight". I think it could be playable at 4-6 players but if we're going to play with more stuff we need a better formatted character summary sheet that has spaces for - name
- description
- species
- class
- weapons list
- melee base
- basic shooting shift
so we don't have to keep remembering that Exp/Elite are +2 melee and +3 shoot, we can just do all those sums before starting. I think the supplied order sheet is the way to go, but having the marker tokens (unloaded, loading, morale) on the table is useful. I think wounded tokens would be good as well. The little coloured tiddlywinks would be better than the printed tokens I think. (RED - wound, YELLOW - unloaded, WHITE - loading, BLUE - morale check) Might be worth having some measuring sticks with the range bands painted on as well to speed up the shooting. I'll see if I can get suitable stuff over the weekend. We also need crib sheets for Orc and Elf which have: - move rates for various species/characters
- weapon data for their available shooting weapons
- Weapon data for fighting weapons (actually that would be added into the base melee above, but useful to have available).
- melee bonuses applicable for each species.
Plus a general tables summary on one page. Anything else?

Thanks for the game. Worked very well and figures are brilliant. Thanks for all the hard work you put in. Definitely up for an other game some time soon.
(Had a quick calculation and in 10 turns of run/walk Sharpie & co could have got 200 cm. Should of just legged it, maybe take a pot shot on a walk/fire but not bother with anything else , discretion is sometimes the better part of valour but never as good as just bugging out ! )
Quick reference sheets would be a great help. The information you need seems a bit scattered.
I can get stuff laminated at work if that helps.
