Yeah, I was thinking about how I'd have done it -- maybe the table was a bit on the big side... :-)
I found the Elf Lancers! I wasn't imaginifying it!! There's six of them; five will make a nice 200pt unit. That box also contained; more bog-orcs and even MORE Prussians. I think I have about 20 of the prussians but I don't have many officers/banners etc to make units.
I've dumped the Orc dragoons into Dettol to see if they'll strip. Cavalry look exciting to have about; charge moves of 2 feet. Dragoons get +2 when charging into melee, Lancers a +3!!

Form a square lads ! I think for a charge action you have had to have declared a run in the previous turn. That's a lot of ground covered in two turns. And a moral check in the same turn as the charge declared. I can see some weaker units just melting away.
So if a line of a five was charged by say 3 lancers and a couple rout off table, would the charges be transfer ed to those standing their ground ? Or is the charge declared against the unit /group rather than the individual which makes more sense .

It's an individual figure game, so I guess if the figure runs, they might get run down...
Maybe the fuller rules has stuff for missed charges? I'm planning on ordering the Catalucia one, but I wanted to see what figures to get as well; and that depends on seeing if the Dettol works :-)
One neat thing is that the core rules are repeated in each book -- so if I get tempted into the deadlands supplement as well, there's two full copies of rules to hand. Actually, they do a special on all three (the third includes the Dwarves..)

OK, so the Dettol works amazingly well. Who'd have thought?? Who **discovered** that???
I've chucked the dismounted dragoons in there and when pulled out 2 days later, they don't look much different (they look damp is all) but the paint does in fact just wipe off -- VJ colours, GW colours and Halfords grey car primer. The primer hasn't come off the milliput on the bases, but I'm probably prising those off and replacing with 30mm rounds anyway.
Also, first bash at character and crib sheets are up on my downloads/flintloque.

Katie,
What Dettol recipe are you using? Are you just using neat Dettol? I've heard of this, but never tried it. I've always used Nitromors for stripping Humbrol enamel paint from old figures, but it's quite an expensive option.

Yeah, just neat Dettol in a jar. I think really I need some glass dishes with lids (it's hard to get the figures out of the jar). I'm amazed how well it works.
Don't scrub them under water is the next lesson; the softened paint seems to coagulate.

So: sitrep after the weekend. Part 2 of 5 of my project is done. I should get 3&4 done this week, leaving me slightly ahead of schedule.
4 episodes of "Sharpe" watched.
I've assembled/repaired/rebased/undercoated: elf line (10 figs), orc dragoons (5 figs), elf lancers (5 figs).
I've stripped nearly 2 doz orcs which will make a line infantry and a grenadier unit. One if them snapped off at the ankles while I was trying to get the base off but has been repaireded.
I've run Boots out of Dettol. They're ordering more.
Not getting on v. fast with the ACW figuresĀ TBH.

Right. In a heroic effort, I have painted; another Elf line infantry section, Orc dragoons and Elf lancers.
Presuming I can find suitable transport foams, I shall bring them along this evening.
Still haven't made a range-stick though.

Well that was brutal. :-) Maybe we should go for more regular /normal /raw troop mixture with only a couple of veteran/elites thrown in.
The figures look great. I like the rats especially.

So, I've had a reply to questions... 1) No, horses can't run twice in a row. 2) Yes, you don't shift the impact (just the hit%). 3) If you can't be pushed out of melee then... you aren't.

I have a slight logistics issue about Monday -- I can't trivially bring as much stuff. {This will be true of all on-going Mondays}.
Is anyone going to be interested in Flintloque? Backup plan is to bring Dominion?

Always up for a game. Something rigorous and realistic. Unlike armour piercing flame throwers that were on evidence.
