Hmm, interesting. Would we be rolling for weather as a random factor per turn or per game? While scouting obviously would cover terrain it seems to me the weather should remain a random factor regardless, especially given the amount of time given over to Waterloo this year...

Per game!!
Per turn would be NUTS.

Well that depends on the setting... I wouldn't mind playing a game in the foetid tropics, or the realms of chaos where storms appear and disappear in the blink of an eye.

So I'm bringing 1,000 points of elves tomorrow. Who's up for a match?

OK, I think I've found 1000p of humans. They're still slightly configured into Lion Rampant armies, I'm just looking for the banners.

Well that was a change of fortune.
Rats winning a battle !
That should knock those so called 'High Elvesess' off their high pedastel.
Fear the 'Bloody nines' beserkers.

On the subject of making up markers... I could probably have a go at doing a PDF of the bits we'd need (including the extra orders that there are no official card markers for); there's a decent printer round the corner here who could dump it onto card a bunch of times and then everyone can have a set of status/order markers. The boring bits are the arrow/magic markers and I'm sure we could find something cooler for them.
(The clock dials can be made by warbases and I've got a PDF of the paper insert. It just needs a bit of yellow/blue paint on the face for day/night.)

Boardgameextras has 1cm wooden cubes in gold/silver that we could use for 10 and 1 magic points...

Yes, we were somewhat overconfident on the left flank and my warchief's blood ran cold when he realised he was going to have to sprint across the board himself to order them forward. A courier is a must next time. There's also a lesson in there about making best use of daylight while one has it... as it was we lost the dairy along with over a hundred tonnes of Blue Stilton. Mea maxima culpa. That squeaking! That hellish squeaking! Next project, paint some more archers, a bit more muscle for the front rank and some elvish runes as order tokens.

Well it was used in the last battle, but given it would be on the table for a moment, probably not.

OK, well in that case, I've added "Threaten".
(I'm actually rather pleased with them!)
Not quite sure whether this will print yet or not. Might have to drop to only 7 tokens a row.

RE : Weather
Perhaps have the affect of overcast being to negate the effect of 'bad light' in daylight conditions for those of the dark persuation. (Maybe for just for the first and last segments of the day turns.) Conversely 'sunny' could be read as a full moon and a clear sky at night and do the same for the sunbathers.
An other thought is a twilight period for the transition from day to light when neither side has bad light.
Magic spells to change weather, or lighting conditions : Summon clouds , astral light. Makes more sense than the expensive the 'hasten day/night'.

OK, I think there's enough border now and I've added some more of the faces :-) www.fysh.org/~katie/wargames/downloads/fantasy_warriors/fw-t1.pdfThere's six each of the 8 orders, 6 disordered, 6 shaken, 6 threaten and 6 bloodlust on a sheet. They should (assuming printers) come out at 1inch squares, so could be mounted on 25mm MDF bases for easier picking up. Oooh I *LIKE* those weather ideas. And twilights are a nice idea. Yes -- hasten day/night is a bit of powerful/expensive spell. I'm wondering if it's something the undead would find worth paying for -- not only do they suffer bad light during the day, but necromancers are halved in effectiveness. In other news I put a photo of my spiffy timedial up on my blog; katiethewargamer.blogspot.co.uk/2015/09/fantasy-warriors-time-dial.html
