OK, I have now acquired a RT era Ork army of around 1200-1500 points. Some of it is in the post to me, some needs stripping/reassembly/repainting, but crucially, I've located RT era rules for all the bits!
Somewhere, I also have a pile of things like mekboyz and painboyz for a Freebooterz group but I can't locate them at the moment. I've found the Big Boss but none of the troops.

Orks in the stripper. Located the painboyz and a shaman. In other news, got a bunch of ruined buildings for a tenner at Hammerhead. Various bits of this system --  Could work nicely for 40k. |

I have finished painting the Orcs. I've also done some digging about and I think I've found enough figures to put together a Chaos Renegade/Traitor Marines list...
It's going to be a bit hacky -- I've got the mutated figures and I'll work backwards from that paying for the dice rolls that would have produced those mutations/weapons swaps and so on.
I think I can do around 1200 points.

I've been trying to get my Kryomek painted, but also creating some RT scenery: I've now got 3 ork buildings constructed, with a fourth still as components to be glued.
I'd like to get the Kryomek done, so I can try my scenario out. I managed to get a couple of buildings from Scotia via eBay, along with barrels and some Olmec ruins all for a tenner. They're seconds, but totally usable. They might be good for RT too.

It was indeed. Its missing the pull out reference sheets in the back, but I wanted the rules mainly and other than that its in near perfect condition, so may last three or four games before the spine gives out. I also scored a 3rd Edition Warhammer Fantasy Battle with pullouts intact for a fiver which I can use with my Ravening Hordes to do some Oldhammer!!

I've got all my ref sheets, although Katie's handy handouts are potentially more legible. The small font and the choice of typeface make the original ones more difficult to use in battle. But they look nice.
